At the outset let me take this opportunity to thank the Minister of Health and Public Hygiene His Excellency, Monsieur Dr Eugène Aka-Aouélé for his August presence despite his heavy schedules. Thank you, Excellency, for your great support. I thank Mr Faman Toure, President of Ivoirian Chamber of Commerce and Mr Raja Chandra Sekharan President Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industry in Cote d’Ivoire for their cooperation for organizing this event. I also thank representatives of hospitals from India who have travelled to Abidjan to participate at this event.
Health is wealth, your health is the first and most important thing that needs to be fixed, if the people are healthy the nation is. It is the healthy nations that does well in every field. India has developed a robust healthcare service, an industry which is growing rapidly worldwide. Globalization of medical treatment is happening faster than anybody could imagine. The availability of quality treatment by highly qualified doctors along with well-trained medical staff in the state-of-the-art medical facilities in India, ease of communication along with affordable pricing makes India one of the top choices for Medical and Wellness services globally.
India offers not only world class medical services, but also alternate therapies for holistic healing and wellness like Yoga, Ayurveda and Naturopathy to tourists seeking tranquillity and rejuvenation of their mind, body and soul. Therefore, India today treats millions of patients from various part of the world.
Ladies and gentlemen, I very happy to note that there has been some good beginning to our cooperation in Health sector. Almost every Indian pharma companies are present here and enjoy lion share of the local market, there is a rising number of Ivoirians seeking medical treatment from India. In addition, Indian companies have invested in facilities for manufacturing drugs in this country. Above all Ivorian government have come up with a great policy to support healthcare industry.
Friends, India’s health care industry transformation is happening at an amazing pace with innovative treatment procedure and post treatment care by harnessing the technology for mankind comfort. I would therefore call upon the Ivorian colleague to take advantage and partner with India to cooperate for innovation and experience-sharing to realize future growth in health care industry in Cote d’Ivoire.
Ladies and gentlemen, the government of India stands ready to cooperate and work together as equal partner with Ivorian side and take the high road of progress towards the healthy cooperation for our nations. I would urge entrepreneurs of both sides to look at each other as partners in co-producing innovation and adding value for boosting India-Cote d’Ivoire cooperation in new emerging areas.
This First seminar of ‘India-Cote d’Ivoire Healthcare: Towards Healthy Cooperation’ is organized with the sole objective of identifying and promoting cooperation between the Cote d’Ivoire and India. I would therefore urge the healthcare sectors from both sides to take advantage of this event and have more in-depth B2B discussion which could lead to productive business ventures between India and Cote d’Ivoire.
I Thank Cote d'Ivoire Chamber of Commerce and ICCI-CI for partnering with Indian Embassy in organizing this event. I wish to sincerely thank the Minister who has been s stalwart supporter for India -cote d’Ivoire cooperation in this regard.
