Hereafter referred to as “Parties”
Desiring to promote friendship and cooperation between the two countries and their people.
Desiring to consolidate consultation and cooperation between the two ministries.
Have reached the following understanding:
Article 1 :
The parties make the commitment to establish a regular political consultation mechanism, and to hold meetings at the executives level alternately in Abidjan and New Delhi.
Article 2 :
During those consultations, the parties will exchange their opinions on their bilateral relations as well as on regional and international matters of common interest.
Article 3 :
The representative diplomatic missions of the parties accredited to other country and international organizations, will consult each other often on bilateral relations and problems of common interest.
Article 4 :
The parties agreed to cooperate for the training of their respective personnel through training sessions and seminars.
Article 5 :
This Memorandum of Understanding will be in force on the signed date for a period of five years extendable by tacit agreement for the same period, except denunciation by one of the contracting parties.
Article 6 :
This Memorandum of Understanding will come into effect from the date of its signing by both parties. It shall continue to remain in force unless terminated by either Party by giving three months notice of its intention to the other Party.
Done at New Delhi on 4th August 2006 in two originals in the Hindi, English and French languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of any divergence of interpretation, the English text shall prevail.
